Great Show ! |
| It was terrific to see a lot of you at the fly fishing show in Minneapolis March 14-16. The Great Waters Fly Fishing Expo drew a ton of smallmouth fans this year, along with fly angers of all sorts-- beginner to veteran, old to young, boisterous to quiet, smallie lovers to seekers of other fish to folks fishing whatever's biting. |
|
We hope that smallies are what's biting for you this season, and we'll do our best to provide the info and gear you need out on the water.
A bunch folks stopped by our Smallmouth Angler booth at the fly show to buy some of Tim Holschlag's Signature Series Smallmouth Flies,
and we sold lots of autographed copies of "Smallmouth Fly Fishing."
Plus, we had prototypes of our new Smallmouth Angler Fly rods available to cast, and those who tried them were amazed at their performance.
Also at this year's expo, Tim Holschlag gave 2 new presentations. On Friday evening, his talk "What Makes a Good Fly?" covered how to choose the right smallmouth fly for any fishing situation. On Saturday, Tim's presentation drew a standing room-only crowd of over 250 smallie fans. Tim told the story of the 40-day, 5000-mile cross-country smallmouth road trip he took last summer, fishing 27 rivers in 12 states. |

If you missed Tim's presentations, you can learn more about "What Makes a Good Fly?" in his latest book, "Smallmouth Fly Fishing." There will also be an article about Tim's 40-Day Road Trip in an upcoming issue of American Angler magazine. And stay tuned to this website for more stories of smallmouth fishing travel and exploration.
Thanks to all of you who attended the fly show, and we hope to see you again next time. Or better yet, we'll see you out on the water!
